Following God

I believe that God is sovereign and that He has a plan for today, tomorrow, and the days, weeks, and years to come. He ask me to live my life according to His Will and His Word. Ultimately this means I am commanded to be His disciple and to make disciples by sharing the message of the gospel. Being a disciple means taking action... living on mission. God has promised to lead me and guide me though this journey we call life IF I will trust Him and be obedient to His commands. Following Jesus and God's direction is key. I must be diligent in communing with God through prayer, Bible intake, Godly counsel, and being attentive to the Holy Spirit's work in and through me. One thing I must not do, cannot afford to do, and that is this... getting ahead of God. He will lead us just as He led the faithful through the desert and eventually into the promised land in the days of Moses. This requires patience, discernment, and listening to And for His direction in my life. Where we as Christian's often fail is being patient enough and attentive enough to follow and not go ahead of God. If we will listen, He will speak. He will direct our lives. The old saying says, "Good things come to those who wait". But God's Word says it far more eloquently...

Isaiah 40:28-31 - Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Amen!
